Determining which products and service are truly best for the environment is challenging to say the least. I found this especially true with my neighborhood florist. My frustrating interactions with them caused me to consider doing the flowers myself, although realistically I did not want the burden. This is why finding Green Stem Designs was such godsend! Our requirements that made our neighborhood florist nervous and confused are standard operating procedure for Green Stem Designs. You combined local farm flowers with gorgeous organic flowers. Although my desire to have “natural” flowers was in opposition to my fear of going “too natural” and ending up with plain results, your creation was stunning, elegant and anything but plain!
We especially appreciate the way that you decorated the altar area... Your greens and flowers really stood out and drew the eye to the front of the room...
We also wanted to use second hand vases for the flowers. Who doesn’t have a handful around the house? Our world must be saturated with them! You were patient while we took a few weeks to find just the right ones at second hand stores. This idea was also received as strange by my neighborhood florist.
Your services, attitude and creativity were more than we could have hoped for. While planning a wedding that has a zero impact on the environment is truly hard to pull off, with your help and the help of the other professionals involved, we were able to tread a little lighter during one of the most important days of our lives.

Green Stem Designs created fabulous floral arrangements for our gallery opening. I knew we needed flowers of some sort but had no clue what would enhance the minor impressionist paintings in our exhibition. Kelly asked for some of our postcard and promotional materials for the event and helped me to articulate what mood we were looking to create. Based on the color palette and the summer season she came up with beautiful floral decor using non-traditional materials that complimented the art without overpowering it. Unbeknownst to my boss, one of the main reasons I chose Green Stem Designs was because they work with sustainably grown, organic and locally grown materials without using that green floral foam, spray paint, or chemical preservatives. I appreciate that GSD is making it possible for us to spend money on something beautiful while also promoting the green industry. It is nice to have that option and I definitely want to work with her again.

Green Stem Designs was the florist for my May 2008 wedding. Kelly, the owner, was amazing from beginning to end. In our first few meetings she brought pictures of flowers and examples of her work making it easy for me to get an idea of what things were going to look like. She listened to exactly what I was looking for, taking into account my budget and the style of my wedding, to come up with the perfect proposal. Then her proposal was created quickly and professionally. Kelly was always very flexible and approachable if I wanted to discuss any changes or concerns I may have had. On the big day everything was delivered on time with careful detailed instructions on how we were to maintain the freshness of our bouquets considering it was close to a 100 degree day. All the flowers exceeded my expectations. The bouquets were fabulous and the table settings were some of the most beautiful I had ever seen. People raved about them. I was amazed at what she accomplished with in my budget. I just can't recommend Kelly at GSD highly enough. Completely professional, personable, fun and extremely talented. I am so glad I found her on a crazy chance meeting!
